Spinal Decompression Therapy

decompression therapy
Decompression Therapy is a safe, gentle
and comfortable way to treat spinal
disc bulges and herniations.

Spinal Decompression Therapy is a nonsurgical treatment where the spine is stretched and relaxed intermittently in a controlled manner.   The theory is that this process creates a negative intradiscal pressure which is does the following:

  • Pulls the herniated or bulging disc material back into the disc
  • Promotes the circulation into the disc allowing the tissue the opportunity to heal.

*Generally there is a series of 10-20 sessions done for full healing, but I have had patients with herniated discs feel better after only a couple of sessions.

Patient Testimonial
“I had surgery scheduled for a bulging disc between my L5 S1. I was in so much pain I was using crutches to walk.  Dr. Andy started adjusting me and the pain was soon tolerable. Then he suggested decompression therapy.  The first time I tried it, I had a bit more relief, and always felt better after each session. I went consistently twice a week for approximately a month and the pain in my back and down my leg was gone. I was skeptical at first but now could not be more grateful that Dr. Andy suggested this type of therapy in replacement to surgery.  I am back to my daily routines and started running again and back to the gym.  Thank you Dr. Andy!”
